Focus
on Tax Justice
Worldwide, big businesses
are dodging taxes. Tax evasion deprives everyday people
of vital services. These funds are needed to pay for education
and healthcare. Poorer countries lose three times more money
to tax
havens than they receive in aid every year.
|
In
Australia in 2011, 71 of the top 100 companies listed on
the ASX had subsidiaries in tax haven countries. Google
paid just $74,176 in Australian tax in the same year, despite
making an estimated $1 billion in revenue from the Australian
market. Tax havens force poor people to pay the taxes of
the rich. Raise your voice for tax justice and corporate
responsibility.
See the videos at Tackle
Tax Havens, and find out more about the situation in
Australia at the Tax
Justice Network and recent 7.30
report segment. Sign the petition
at Micah Challenge: Shine the light on corporate corruption.
